Calip to be honored on May 2nd

Darlean Calip(SPS) -- Sapulpa Chieftains head basketball coach Darlean Calip is among a who’s who of dignitaries to be recognized by The Christian Ministers Alliance Inc. on Sunday, May 2.

The Alliance is hosting a special service at Gilcrease Hills Baptist Church to commemorate the Tulsa Race Massacre centennial. The service will begin at 6 p.m.

The service will include messages from several area pastors along with music from Praise Center Family Church, New Jerusalem Baptist Church of Muskogee, and The Cherokee Indian Baptist Choir.

Mrs. Calip led the Sapulpa Chieftains to the Class 5A Girls State Championship title in March. It’s her second state title leading the Chieftains basketball program.
