Summer Camps

Sapulpa Public Schools, in conjunction with the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association and Frontier Valley Conference, has determined that it is safe to return to activities, with restrictions.

In order to ensure the safety of our student-athletes and staff, the following guidelines will be put in place and are expected to be followed with no exceptions. The situation surrounding COVID-19 is fluid so changes and adjustments to these plans may become necessary as we move forward.

These summer activities and workouts are VOLUNTARY. It will NOT be held against a coach or student-athlete who chooses to not participate.

Phase 1 is June 10 through June 26. During this time, coaches may have face-to-face contact with secondary level students, with a focus on strength and conditioning and any remaining tryouts, following OSSAA guidelines, as well as the requirements listed below. During Phase 1, there will be no camps, clinics, or summer leagues.

All coaches and athletes who will be conducting and participating in workouts during Phase 1 must adhere to the following:

- Social distancing MUST be observed.

- No locker rooms will be open.

- Athletes must come dressed and ready to work out and leave immediately following their workout.

- Athletic programs will NOT do any laundry during this phase.

- Bathrooms will be accessible, but athletes will not be allowed to congregate in these areas.

- Athletes MUST bring their own water bottles; extra water bottles on hand for emergencies only.

- A COVID-19 check-in form MUST be completed daily by coaches and athletes. Any “Yes” answer given will prohibit that coach or athlete from entering and participating in the activities that day. Temperature checks will be done as needed. A temperature of 100.4 will prohibit that coach or athlete from entering and participating in the activities that day.

- All coaches and athletes that are practicing in summer activities MUST bring a mask and have it in their possession at all times. Everyone MUST wear a mask while indoor, with exception to athletes while they are performing physical activities. Wearing a mask outdoors is not required.

- All equipment used during the activity will be disinfected by the coaches at the conclusion of the workout.

- No sharing of helmets or equipment worn on the head, including face coverings.

- No scrimmaging or one-on-one drills are permitted.

- All programs MUST follow OSSAA rules, as well as Sapulpa Public Schools guidelines

- Physicals from the 2019-20 school year ARE permitted for summer activities. All athletes MUST have a new physical for the 2020-21 school year, prior to fall practices. More information about physicals will come at a later date.

Programs that are participating in Phase 1 include; Baseball, Basketball (boys), Cross Country, Football, Softball, Volleyball, and Wrestling.
