Cross Country teams finish strong at Holland Hall

Cross Country runners(SPS) - Another meet, more hardware.

Our boys and girls of Cross Country brought home team and individual honors following the Holland Hall Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.

The varsity boys finished in second place in the 5000m, with Mason Quinton, Evan Quinton, and Caiden Henderson pushing each other to top 10 finishes.

On the varsity girls side of the 5000, Stormie Ramsey and Sydney Krehbiel had top 10 finishes. Leona Crowl finished in 11th.

The 6th-grade boys earned first place in the Elementary Boys 1600m with nine Chieftains finishing in the top 20. They were led by Kyle Haught who finished in 2nd place overall.

Sixth-grader Jocelynn Collard was the first Sapulpa girl finisher in the Elementary Girls 1600m race.

Stailee Heard remained undefeated as she edged out the second place runner by inches at the finish line with a time of 5:23 in the 1600m. Taylor Bilby, Jasmine Brown, and Alex Terrones also finished in the top 20 this week. The Junior High Girls finished in second at the meet.

The junior high Boys finished 5th. AJ Jernegan paced the team with a time of 5:17 and finished second overall in the 1600m. Jaxson Lary and Garrett Richards also finished in the top 25.

The varsity teams head to Yukon Thursday for the Run ENDURO Cross Country Classic. Leith Breville and Trystin Miles-Hoggat will join the girls and boys varsity runners in Yukon after their performances at Holland Hall.

The Kiefer Trojans Cross Country Meet closes the week on Saturday with the varsity and junior high teams competing.
